A nurse with a passion for things that smell good, and her dog who has a passion for smelling all the things.

Why Woodsmoke and Olive? To quote Julie Andrews, "These are a few of my favorite things."

For me, the scent of woodsmoke or a burning campfire evokes fond memories of camping with my family during my childhood, and of summer nights in my backyard sipping wine with friends in my adulthood. It's a scent that stays with you - lingering in your hair, your clothes, and your memories.

Olive is our beloved dog-child. Her life's motto is, "If it fits, I sits", wiggling her way into the smallest space next to you or on you if necessary. She wiggled her way out of foster care into our lives and hearts in 2014, and she is by far the best decision we have ever made. She is my candle making supervisor, sniff testing each candle that is produced. Coincidentally she is also employee of the month, every month. But I may be biased.

Personally, I have always connected specific scents to the seasons. Like the smell of a fresh cut Christmas tree in winter, or the smell of lilacs in the air in spring. So to me, it felt natural to design a line of candles that reflect the changing seasons and the scents that represent them.
